Storm Season: It’s Almost Here

Published on June 10th, 2021

Preparedness. For those of us who are planners, being prepared for the worst is something that helps ease the mind and gives some sense of control in a time of chaos.

Storm season officially began on June 1st and will last roughly until November. For the next five months, this season will put our industry on edge. How many storms will there be? How much damage and destruction will each leave behind? Are we ready? Of course, this time of year causes turmoil in our minds, but as we review the last 6 months…. were we ever truly “out” of storm season? Tornadoes, hurricanes, snowstorms, and severe weather have torn through the Southeastern region for the better half of a year already.

Moving forward into the coming months, we encourage our customers to remain vigilant and prepared. Expecting the worst storms, but praying for little damage.

After each storm season, we are faced with new challenges and we know you, our customers, are as well. Every year is different for all of us, and while we can’t know for sure what will happen this storm season, we know that preparation is key.

At Gresco, we’re ready to assist you when the storms do come. To learn more about how Gresco has worked with utilities to help restore power after hurricane damage, read our case studies.
