Spotlight: Skydio 2
Skydio is one of America's leading drone manufacturers. They design, assemble, and support their products in the U.S. Though many claim autonomy, conventional drones feature little more than waypoint missions and basic obstacle detection. Skydio uses six 4K cameras to build a 3D map of their surroundings, deep learning algorithms to understand what they're seeing, and advanced AI to predict the future and make intelligent decisions.
For utilities, Skydio drones can inspect power equipment including power generation maintenance and energy transmission & delivery. 360° obstacle avoidance and autonomous capabilities allow you to fly up close to inspect and document power-generating equipment and oil and gas facilities safely. In highly energized, obstacle-rich, and GPS-denied environments, you can fly unaffected to inspect transmission, substation, and distribution networks easily with computer vision navigation.
