National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Releases Updated Version of NFPA70B Regarding Electrical Inspections
In 2023, Teledyne FLIR released an updated version of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70B. This document is essential to those in the electrical utility industry, as it promotes safety practices in the U.S. These guidelines are updated every 3-5 years to help establish an electrical preventative maintenance (EPM) program. A key highlight from the article, is that the “NFPA70B makes mandatory the inspection of ALL electrical equipment at least every 12 months, with equipment that meets the Equipment Physical Condition 3 requiring thermographic inspection at least every 6 months.”
The document was updated last year to show equipment inspection requirements and who can inspect it. To read more about the updated requirements, click on the article from Teledyne FLIR below.
