Fiber Huts – A Solid Solution

If you are an electric cooperative currently building a fiber network, or preparing to build one, you need a safe, secure place to terminate your fiber and place your electronics. At Gresco, we can provide solutions for huts ranging from metal to concrete, and from barebones Do-It-Yourself (DIY), to a fully functioning solution ready for service on day one.

Gresco recently supplied an Alabama cooperative with fully equipped concrete huts, shipped onsite with the equipment pre-installed. These huts are rated for winds up to 150 mph and are National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) certified. The huts are fire rated for two hours and UL752 Level 4 bullet resistant. These specs are standard but can be upgraded to Level 9 bullet protection and up to 250 mph wind resistance for true storm shelter performance.

Gresco can take these buildings and source them for our cooperative members as well as all the inside equipment and electronics. In addition, we can have all this equipment installed at the factory prior to shipment to your location. Gresco works with our partners to schedule a shipment to your locations as well as arrange for crane service. We can also perform site prep/civil work to make this a full turn-key solution. This means all you need to do is add power and connect your OSP fiber and you can be up and running in a very short time. Our huts have HVAC, DC power plant, and battery backup to give you the five-nines reliability your customers need. They can also have an external generator receptacle of your choosing to add even more power reliability. This allows flexibility to choose the AC power backup architecture that is right for you.
