Our Story

Since 1960, Gresco has served the electrical supply needs of hundreds of utility customers in the Southeast region by providing products and services they need to build and maintain power systems. Over the years, we’ve expanded our geographical reach with a network of strategically-located warehouses and evolved our product offerings to continue to serve customers in new and emerging markets throughout the US.

In February 1960, at least 15 cooperatives agree to start Gresco. By August, Gresco is incorporated and doing business with 24 cooperatives in the southeast.

Gresco began building its first warehouse in Reynolds, GA.

The Georgia warehouse undergoes several expansions.

Gresco sends assistance to CEE-US in response to Hurricane Hugo, which made landfall in South Carolina.

We begin offering crane services to our utilities customers.

Membership is extended to outside of Georgia and Gresco begins offering its consigned stock program.

In December, Gresco opens its Dothan, AL location.

Gresco expands sales to Florida!

The Madison, AL warehouse opens. Effective 01/01/01, Georgia Rural Electric Service Corporation becomes Gresco Utility Supply, Inc. This year, Gresco hosts its first expo!

Gresco completes its building project in Wildwood, FL.

Gresco opens a new location in Mount Olive, MS.

The Gresco Headquarters and the Georgia Division are relocated to Forsyth, GA.

We begin offering wire cutting and paralleling services.

Gresco Technology Solutions becomes an authorized DJI dealer and begins selling drone equipment.

After partnering with major manufacturers, Gresco becomes an authorized distributor of solar products and EV charging stations.

Gresco begins its first major expansion of the Alabama, Florida, and Georgia facilities.

Nearly all construction is complete. The total square footage of Gresco’s warehouse and office spaces in AL, FL and GA is 280,508, an increase of more than 50%!
