About This Item:

The Elios 3 RAD Package is a remote radiation detection and localization solution designed for use with the Flyability Elios 3 indoor inspection drone. Powered by radiation sensing technology from Mirion Technologies, this payload enables fast and accurate radiation surveying of indoor and confined spaces while keeping personnel outside irradiated areas. It is commonly used to assess radiological conditions in environments such as nuclear facilities, decommissioning sites, and other hazardous indoor assets where direct human access increases exposure risk.

This package supports both in‑flight and post‑flight radiation analysis by capturing dose rate measurements alongside visual and mapping data. During flight, operators can view current and cumulative dose readings to help identify areas of elevated radiation. After the mission, radiation data is localized on a 3D map of the asset, allowing precise identification and characterization of radiation hot spots to support dose planning and inspection decision‑making. The detachable and swappable sensor design allows users to maintain sensor calibration requirements without interrupting ongoing operations.

Instant Readings Without Direct Exposure


Provides immediate visibility into current and cumulative dose rates, along with maximum recorded values and measurement history, to help identify radiation trends and locate areas of elevated radiation.

Locating and Characterizing Hot Spots


During flight, radiation measurements are recorded alongside visual and mapping data, then visualized in post‑processing by color‑coding the drone’s trajectory based on dose rate readings to precisely identify radiation sources on a 3D asset map.

Developed in partnership with Mirion Technologies, the Elios 3 RAD payload uses trusted radiation detection technology to deliver reliable dose measurements across a wide range of radiological conditions, from µSv/h to Sv/h.
