The Quick Change 11/16" Steel Plate Carbide Hole Cutter (49-57-8201) is designed for precision drilling in steel plate, stainless steel, and strut materials. Ideal for handheld operations in materials up to 3/8" thick, this carbide-tipped cutter delivers drill press-quality holes even when used with portable tools. For materials thicker than 3/8", a drill press is recommended to maintain cutting performance. This hole cutter is commonly used in electrical, mechanical, and structural applications where clean, accurate holes are required in metal surfaces.
Featuring a 1/2" cutting depth and a quick-change shank, the cutter is compatible with Milwaukee’s quick-change arbor (49-57-0035), allowing for fast bit swaps and reduced downtime. The carbide tips stay sharper longer than high-speed steel or bi-metal alternatives, supporting extended tool life and consistent results. For optimal performance during deeper cuts, Milwaukee recommends using Hawg Wash® cutting fluid to cool and lubricate the cutting surface.
