The GenerLink Hybrid Transfer Switch – 40 Amp Surge Model is a meter-adjacent backup power solution designed to connect a portable generator directly to a home’s electrical system through the meter interface. Installed near the electric meter, this hybrid configuration provides an alternative for applications where standard meter-mounted installations are not approved, while still delivering generator power to the main breaker panel without requiring interior rewiring or a dedicated subpanel. The 40 amp configuration supports generator input through a 14-50 connection and distributes power across existing circuits based on generator capacity, enabling users to energize essential systems such as lighting, refrigeration, pumps, and security infrastructure during power outages.
Designed for residential backup power applications, the system enables safe and controlled power transfer during outages caused by storms, grid failures, or planned interruptions. Integrated 75 kA whole-home surge protection helps safeguard connected appliances and electrical systems from voltage spikes during generator operation, while built-in back feed prevention isolates generator power from utility lines for compliance and safety. The always-installed design allows immediate generator connection when needed, supporting flexible power distribution through the existing breaker panel without limiting users to predefined circuits.
Please note: Installation will need to be performed by a licensed electrician.
